Scott refers to himself as a “THINspirational Speaker” because he started speaking professionally after losing 70 pounds in 1994. He now playfully provokes and inspires people and organizations to overcome their own challenges and celebrate their successes.
Scott is the past president of the northern California chapter of the National Speakers Association. He is a syndicated newspaper columnist, author of three books, a wellness coach and consultant, and the founder and publisher of Two Words Magazine: a motivational publication dedicated to hope, inspiration, and change from a simple phrase.
He is known for lively, playful presentations and has been described as a cross between “nutrition 101, group therapy, and a southern revival.” He reminds you that in order to get the most out of his materials and presentations, you need to put your left-brain on hold, and — although part of what he does is help people lose weight — he is not a “food cop.” Should you ever bump into him in a restaurant, he requests you do not monitor what he eats and he will not watch you – however he might be willing to consult with you in exchange for French fries or chocolate.
